2010 – May/June MUG
UPDATE
May wrap up 2010 President’s Corner
Wow April flew by.
IBM
’s Steve Fier presented
IBM
Announcements on Power 7 and i7 at our April meeting.
It was held at the
Hamburg
Fairgrounds Gaming and Raceway! This
location is always a hit! And some
even like the $5 of free play that comes with the buffet!
We had a good turnout. We are
expecting Steve Fier to come back in September,
and keep us all sharp with
the
IBM
announcements and hardware platforms!
This was an election year for our MUG Board, it happens
every other year. Well on that note,
no news is good news, there were no nominations and our current board has agreed
to stay for another 2 year term. So
the board will remain as Follows:

May – 2010 our End of the Season event.
Steve Kait again volunteered to set up our bowling party
at the AMF Thruway Lanes. It was a
great time with plenty of food, and over 2 hours of bowling.
Teams of 2 bowlers were set up, and we competed for an elimination round
where only 5 teams had a bowl-off. There
were trophies for first place and bottles of wine for second and third place.
The joke of the day was that the contenders wanted to come in either 2nd
or 3rd place to get the wine. It
is nice to be a winner! See the list
of winners below:
MUG Bowling Winner’s Circle 2010 (See photos on “News” page):
1st Place…….Leigh and Holly
2nd Place
……Chris and
Marianna
3rd Place…….Dan and Sue
Just an FYI, we will be sending out new and renewal
membership applications in July or August. If you need to be
on our subscription list, please send an email to our membership chair, Steve
Kait at: skait@gemko.com
So! Have you seen our revamped newsletter?
Chuck Giambra at Hi Tech Services has done a great job! Who has finished
the crossword puzzle???? Let me know what you think of the additions to
our news letter and maybe you want to write a column or have something to add!
Stay in tune with our website at: www.MUGWNY.org
We will continue to keep it updated with meeting information and other news.
I am looking forward to another great MUG season, where I can continue to reach
out to our members and host our meetings.
